The dream of the nudists came alive in Portland on Sunday.

Hundreds of naked bike riders joined in a protest outside of an ICE facility. The protest outside the ICE facility has been growing in recent days.

It took on a whole new flavor on Sunday when the naked bike riders arrived. They came as part of an emergency edition of the annual World Naked Bike Ride.

According to the Associated Press, the bike ride is an annual tradition. It usually happens in the summer. But organizers of this weekend’s hastily called event said another nude ride was necessary.

They wanted to speak out against President Donald Trump’s attempts to mobilize the National Guard to quell protests.

Despite the rain and mid-50s temperatures, rider Janene King called it a quintessentially Portland way to protest.

“We definitely do not want troops coming into our city.”

Two dozen Democrat-led states have joined a legal challenge to National Guard deployment in Portland, Oregon. PBS reported this information.

The filing with the U.S. 9th Circuit Court of Appeals contains specific language about the National Guard deployment.

“By calling forth troops when there is no invasion to repel, no rebellion to suppress, and when state and local law enforcement are fully able to execute the law, the President flouts the vision of our Founders, undermines the rule of law, and sets a chilling precedent that puts the constitutional rights of all Americans at risk.”

Portland has become ground zero for anti-ICE protests. The city’s far-left activists oppose all immigration enforcement. They believe ICE should be abolished entirely.

The naked bike ride represents peak Portland activism. Only in this ultra-progressive city would protesters think nudity is an appropriate form of political expression.

King called it quintessentially Portland. She’s right about that. This bizarre protest perfectly captures the city’s radical culture.

But most Americans don’t see naked bike riding as legitimate protest. They see it as indecent exposure and public disorder. They see activists who have lost all sense of propriety.

The protesters claim they oppose National Guard deployment. But the National Guard is in Portland because local authorities refuse to maintain order. Violent protests have raged for days outside the ICE facility.

Portland police have not effectively controlled the situation. Oregon state officials have not stepped in to restore order. This is why President Trump deployed the National Guard.

The president has the authority to deploy federal troops when local authorities fail to maintain law and order. This is not controversial. Every president has this power.

But Portland activists oppose any federal presence in their city. They want to continue their anti-ICE protests without interference. They believe they should be able to block ICE facilities indefinitely.

The legal challenge from 24 Democrat-led states is frivolous. The filing claims there is no invasion to repel and no rebellion to suppress. But violent protests that prevent federal agencies from operating are exactly the type of disorder that justifies National Guard deployment.

The filing says state and local law enforcement are fully able to execute the law. But Portland police have proven they are unwilling to do so. They stand down while protesters block federal facilities.

The claim that Trump flouts the vision of the Founders is absurd. The Founders gave the president power to deploy troops domestically. They understood that federal authority must be protected from mob rule.

The filing says Trump undermines the rule of law. But the exact opposite is true. Trump is enforcing the rule of law against activists who want to shut down ICE operations.

Protesters blocking a federal facility are breaking the law. ICE agents trying to do their jobs are upholding the law. The National Guard is there to ensure federal law enforcement can operate.

The naked bike riders oppose this law enforcement. They rode through Portland in the rain protesting Trump’s actions. They apparently believe public nudity makes their political statement more effective.

Most Americans support ICE and immigration enforcement. They want illegal aliens deported. They don’t sympathize with naked protesters blocking federal facilities.

The World Naked Bike Ride usually happens in summer for obvious reasons. But organizers called an emergency edition to protest Trump. They couldn’t wait for warm weather to strip naked and ride bikes.

This shows how much Portland leftists hate Trump and his immigration policies. They will literally bare everything to oppose him.
