Liberals Expand “LGBT” To Insane Places

Somewhere in Ottawa, a Canadian lawmaker stood before cameras and, with a straight face, rattled off an acronym so long it could qualify for its own postal code: MMIWG2SLGBTQQIA+.

Go ahead. Read it again. Sound it out. I’ll wait.

That jumble of letters came courtesy of Leah Gazan, a self-identifying socialist and New Democratic Party MP, who gathered with leaders of several indigenous organizations on Wednesday to protest federal funding cuts. Canada’s 2026 Budget slashed roughly $7 billion from Indigenous Services Canada and Crown Indigenous relations, and Gazan was not pleased.

But it wasn’t the dollar figure that stopped traffic. It was the sentence she delivered with the gravity of a wartime address:

“They provided $0 to deal with the ongoing genocide of MMIWG2SLGBTQQIA+. Rates of violence are increasing, and the PM is turning a blind eye.”

Genocide. Of an acronym most people would need a Rosetta Stone to decode.

The Alphabet Just Keeps Growing

Remember when it was just “LGB”? That was clean. Simple. Three letters. Then came the T. Fine. Then the Q. Then another Q — because apparently one wasn’t questioning enough. Then the I, the A, the 2S, and now we’ve bolted on “MMIWG” at the front like a sidecar on a motorcycle that was already wobbling.

For the uninitiated, MMIWG stands for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls — a genuinely serious issue in Canada involving real victims and real grief. But someone in the progressive branding department decided that serious issue needed to be welded onto the ever-expanding identity alphabet like a bumper sticker on a clown car. The result? A 17-character monstrosity that undermines the very people it claims to champion.

You can’t advocate for a cause nobody can pronounce.

Ottawa’s Response Was Chef’s Kiss

Here’s where it gets beautiful. A spokesperson for Crown-Indigenous Relations Minister Rebecca Alty, a fellow named Alec Wilson, issued a response addressing the funding concerns. He talked about interim agreements, three-year proposals, and ongoing discussions.

What he did not do — and God bless him for it — was touch that acronym with a ten-foot pole. Not a single attempt to unpack it, define it, or even acknowledge its existence. Wilson chose the path of a man who sees a bear in the woods and slowly backs away without making eye contact. Smart man.

The Real Problem Nobody Will Say Out Loud

The left has turned identity politics into a competitive sport where the goal is to cram as many categories as possible into a single label. Every addition is supposed to signal more compassion, more inclusion, more moral superiority. But what it actually signals is that the movement has lost the plot entirely.

Missing and murdered indigenous women deserve focused attention, dedicated resources, and leaders who treat their plight with the seriousness it demands — not politicians who stuff their tragedy into an acronym salad to score intersectionality points at a press conference.

This is what happens when ideology replaces strategy. When virtue signaling replaces problem solving. When the progressive machine cares more about the label than the people behind it.

Trump has said repeatedly that the woke alphabet game distracts from real governance. Agree or disagree with the man on specifics, but he’s dead right on this one. While American progressives play the same game — and they absolutely do — at least nobody stateside has tried to Frankenstein two separate social justice causes into one unpronounceable super-acronym. Yet. Give them time.

Where This Is Headed

If history is any guide, Gazan’s acronym won’t be the last mutation. Next year it’ll be 22 characters. The year after that, 30. At some point, someone will propose just using the entire alphabet and calling it a day. The plus sign at the end is already doing the heavy lifting of a warehouse forklift — it’s basically shorthand for “and whoever else we forgot but please don’t cancel us.”

The tragedy is that real indigenous women in Canada are going missing and being murdered, and the people who claim to fight for them just handed their critics a punchline instead of a plan.

When your cause needs a decoder ring, you’ve stopped communicating — and started performing.
