A Christian school in Vermont just got handed a half-million-dollar settlement because the state thought it could bully them into pretending that biology is optional. Mid Vermont Christian School refused to compete against a team that had a biological male on the roster — so the Vermont Principals’ Association banned them from all athletic competitions.
Half a million dollars. That’s the price of picking a fight with people who actually believe in something. Bravo, Vermont.
Here’s how this played out. Mid Vermont Christian School had a girls’ basketball team. They were scheduled to play against a team that included a biological male identifying as female. The school said no — not because they hate anyone, but because they believe girls’ sports should be for, you know, girls. Revolutionary concept in 2026, apparently.
So what did the Vermont Principals’ Association do? Did they say “okay, we understand your religious convictions, let’s work something out”? Of course not. This is Vermont. They banned the school from ALL state athletic competitions. Every sport. Every season. Done.
“You won’t let a boy play on the girls’ team? Fine. No sports for you at all.”
That’s not a policy. That’s a tantrum.
The school did what any American with a spine would do — they lawyered up and fought back. And the state of Vermont just wrote them a check for $500,000 because even Vermont’s lawyers knew they couldn’t defend this nonsense in front of a judge.
Think about that for a second. The state had to pay half a million taxpayer dollars because some bureaucrats decided that a Christian school’s refusal to abandon biological reality was a punishable offense. Vermont taxpayers — the people who work actual jobs and pay actual taxes — are now footing the bill for their government’s ideological crusade against a school that was simply protecting female athletes.
Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.
And this is the part that the trans activist crowd never wants to talk about. Nobody was “harmed” by a Christian school choosing not to compete. The other team could still play. The transgender athlete could still participate in their league. The only thing that happened was that one school said “we’d rather sit this one out” — and for THAT, they got the death penalty on athletics.
The message from Vermont was crystal clear: comply with our ideology or we will destroy your athletic program. Participate in the fiction or be punished.
Well, the punishment boomeranged. A cool $500K worth of boomerang.
This is a massive win for religious liberty and for every parent who’s been told to shut up and accept that their daughter has to compete against someone with a biological advantage that no amount of hormone therapy fully erases. The courts keep siding with common sense on this issue, and the activists keep pretending it isn’t happening.
Remember — we were told this would never happen. “Nobody is trying to force your kids to compete against biological males,” they said. “That’s a right-wing conspiracy theory,” they said. And then they literally banned a school from all sports for refusing to do exactly that.
Vermont tried to make an example out of Mid Vermont Christian School. Instead, they made them half a million dollars richer and turned them into a symbol of what happens when you stand your ground against the woke mob.
The scoreboard doesn’t lie: Christians 1, Thought Police 0. And the taxpayers of Vermont get to pick up the tab for their government’s little social experiment gone wrong.
