Donald Trump suffered quite a bit of fact-checking during the ABC presidential debate. He was fact-checked several times on issues while Kamala Harris was able to say whatever she wanted without being called out just once.

The most shocking fact-check for Trump had to do with the issue on abortion.

He made the comment about Harris and Walz’s stance, “Her vice presidential pick says abortion in the ninth month is absolutely fine. He also says execution after birth — it’s execution, no longer abortion, because the baby is born — is OK.”

He was quickly fact checked by Davis, who said, “There is no state in this country where it is legal to kill a baby after it’s born.”

That’s not true, though.

Former Virginia Governor Ralph Northan also made a comment in 2019: “If a mother is in labor, I can tell you exactly what would happen. The infant would be delivered. The infant would be kept comfortable. The infant would be resuscitated if that’s what the mother and the family desired, and then a discussion would ensue between the physicians and the mother.”

While those in Northam’s office said that he wasn’t proposing infanticide, it sure sounds like it. Otherwise, what exactly do they mean about a “discussion” taking place? If there’s no plan to kill the baby, then there is no “discussion.”

So, while the ABC commentators fact-checked Trump left and right, the reality is that he was telling the truth. The Democrats are doing some wildly inappropriate things, but when they’re called out on it, they try to hide and point the finger so that they’re not actually held responsible for what they say and do.
