Kamala Harris sparked outrage over the weekend after attempting to adopt a questionable Midwestern twang during a Labor Day address in Detroit. Many labeled it yet another instance of her notorious chameleon-like behavior.

As part of an apparent effort to ingratiate herself with local labor unions ahead of the midterms, Harris awkwardly declared to attendees, “You better thank a union member for the five-day work week… you better thank a union member for sick leave. You better thank a union member for paid leave. You better thank a union member for vacation time.”

Predictably, social media erupted in ridicule upon hearing the Vice President’s sudden affectation. Conservative personality Johnny Maga blasted Harris’ “Detroit speak,” deriding it as “cringeworthy” and “fake.”

Trump Senior Advisor Stephen Miller said, “This is her seventh new accent in four weeks. She has literally never used this accent before. She grew up in Canada. Phoniest politician in all of politics.”

Professor and podcaster Gad Saad concurred, declaring “there are countless traits that I despise in humans, few as much as inauthenticity”, implying Harris embodies those exact qualities.

GOP Strategist Matt Whitlock offered scathing commentary, saying “all of politics is a performance to Kamala Harris. She changes fake accents like she changes policy positions and political personas. Today she’s talking in a fake southern accent, pretending to be a moderate. Next week she’ll be back to San Francisco liberal.”

Additional footage showcased Harris urging supporters to “just get through the next 64 days”, punctuated by an affected guffaw – prompting widespread mockery online.

Liberal watchdog Libs of TikTok incredulously asked, “what did I just watch… what’s with this new accent?”, echoing sentiments across the Twitterverse.

Most notably, NBC Reporter called out Harris last month when she insisted her values hadn’t changed despite altered policies; however, even more damning were side-by-side comparisons revealing stark differences between her performances in both Detroit and Pittsburgh mere hours apart.

Greg Price astutely observed, “same speech. two entirely different accents”.

When approached regarding these allegations, The Harris Campaign declined comment – further fueling speculation surrounding their embattled leader’s authenticity crisis.

It bears noting that similar accusations have dogged Harris throughout recent months, including instances where she allegedly adopted a Southern drawl (Atlanta) or attempted French inflections during international diplomacy efforts.
